Alessandro Caimi was born in 1990. He obtained the Bachelor degree of Biomedical Engineering in July 2012 at Politecnico di Milano, focusing on the evaluation, from magnetic resonance data, of constants of lumped parameter model of the cerebrospinal system. Afterwards he graduated in July 2015 at Politecnico di Milano, receiving a Master degree in Biomedical Engineering. The master thesis work focused on the development of a fluid-structure interaction model for the characterization of the fluid dynamics and the kinematics of a pediatric ventricular assist device and it was developed in collaboration with the Artificial Heart Lab of The Penn State University (PA, USA). Currently enrolled as a PhD researcher at the Biomechanics Group, he focuses of the field of “Computational fluid dynamics analysis” of cardiovascular devices.
