mangini Andrea Mangini was born in 1968. He got his Master Degree in Medicine in 1993 from the Università degli Studi di Milano School of Medicine with a thesis concerning the improvement of left ventricular function and cardiovascular neural control after endoventriculoplasty by heart rate variability analysis. He served on voluntary basis in the Green Cross A.P.M. Association in Milano from 1986 as Rescue team member to 2002 as Medical Director. He became in 2000 Team Leader in the Milano Advanced Life Support Organization. He served till 1995 in the Army as NATO LANDSOUTH HQ Medical Officer. He then completed his Cardiac Surgery training in Milano in 2000.
From 1997 he was appointed staff surgeon in the “L.Sacco” Cardiac Surgery Division where in 2010 became Consultant and in 2013 Senior consultant. In 2002 he spent 6 months working with Prof Gebrine El Koury in Saint Luc Hospital-Brussels – Belgium to transfer their knowledge on aortic valve repair to his hospital . His studies are mainly concerning aortic root and valve dynamics and Radial Artery flow after CABG surgery. From 2008 he is the ForCardioLAB Medical Coordinator. He is now a Bioengineering PhD student at the Politecnico di Milano and his research is focused on the translational approach to aortic valve repair merging results from Finite Elements in silico analysis with pulse duplicator in vitro data and in vivo results of his clinical practice.
