matteo_selmiMatteo Selmi was born in 1989. He obtained the Bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering in September 2011 at Politecnico di Milano, focusing on the review of the validation rules of the experimental tests on hip, knee and spinal prosthesis. In April 2015 he recieved his Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, with a study within the aortic aneurysm surgery. The thesis work, performed in collaboration with Ospedale “A. Manzoni” (Lecco, ITALY), focused on the development of a finite element model (FEM) in order to quantify the sleeve technique effects on the biomechanics of the aortic root, comparing the results with the traditional David technique’s ones. Currently enrolled as a PhD researcher at the Biomechanics Group, he focuses on the numerical analysis of the tricuspid valve and its pathologies, combining magnetic resonance imaging with finite element modeling.
