Labs

Computational Biomechanics Laboratory
It is located at the premises of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, in the main Polimi Campus.
The activities of the lab tackle mostly applications in the cardiovascular and neurosurgical fields, leveraging a broad range of modeling strategies: computational fluid dynamics, computational stress analysis, artificial intelligence, and mixed reality.

3D and Computer Simulation Laboratory
It is located at the premises IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, where it was founded in 2017 in collaboration with us and with the Computational Mechanics & Advanced Materials Group at University of Pavia.
By leveraging computational modeling and 3D printing, the activities of the lab focus on cardiovascular applications and aim to developing new computational tools to best exploit the information yielded by advanced medical imaging, and to improve early diagnosis, prognosis, as well as surgical and interventional planning.
Computing Facilities

We are partners of CFDHub@Polimi, and we have our own computing facilities. Altogether, we can exploit:
- Two 12-core workstations (AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, 64 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card)
- One 24-core workstation (AMD Ryzen threadripper 2970W CPU, 128 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX T600 graphics card)
- Two 24-core workstations (Intel i9-14900KF CPU, 192 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card)
- Two DELL Intel Xeon Gold 6148 Blade Servers (40 cores, 192 GB RAM)
- Two DELL Intel Xeon E5-2690-V4 Blade Servers (28 cores, 128 GB RAM)
- Multiple workstations for coding, 3D modeling, and data analysis
We are equipped with multiple software packages, including ABAQUS, ANSYS FLuent and LS-Dyna, SimVascular, CRIMSON, FEniCS.
