vottaEmiliano Votta is Associate Professor at the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, where he is part of the Biomechanics Research Group. He teaches two courses for Biomedical Engineering graduate students (Advanced Modeling Approaches For Cardiovascular Surgery [I.C.], and Computational Biomechanics Laboratory), and he's one of the student exchange coordinators for the Biomedical Engineering Programme. He is also the head of the 3D and Computer Simulation Laboratory, located at the premises of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, a center of excellence in cardiology, interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery. His research activity is mainly devoted to computational modeling as a technology to support clinical decision making, mostly in the context of cardiovascular diseases and therapies. He is author or co-author of more than 170 scientific publications in the field of biomechanics, including more than 70 peer reviewed manuscripts on international journals (h-index: 25; citations: 2300+; source: Scopus). In the past, he has been involved in five EU-funded projects and five Italian national funded projects. He is currently the coordinator of ARTERY, a European Project funded by the H2020 Programme that aims to revolutionize structural interventional cardiolody through robotics. He is one of the co-founders of Artiness, a start-up company stemmed from the Biomechanics Research Group that develops mixed reality tools for pre- and intra-procedural support in percutaneous interventions. well as to support surgical planning. He is one of the co-founders of Artiness, a start-up company stemmed from the Biomechanics Research Group and devoted to support the planning and the fullfillment of percutaneous procedures by means of mixed reality.
