Rodrigo was born in 1998 in Tenerife (Spain). He studied biomedical engineering in Madrid with a thesis focused on the development of a meniscus implant with a tissue engineering approach. In 2020 he started his master’s degree in Barcelona to deepen his knowledge about biomedical engineering and complement it with business and entrepreneurship skills. During the second year of the master, he did a mobility to Lisbon within the Master Technological Innovation in Health (MTiH) programme offered by EIT-Health. In this period, he developed his master’s thesis about the development of a novel cardiac patch composed of a natural biomaterial and a synthetic polymer. He populated this scaffold with human induced pluripotent stem cells differentiated into cardiomyocytes. Currently, he is working on heart-on-a-chip in Politecnico di Milano through an internship within the program Marie Sklodowska-Curie SINERGIA..
